For
Wasaga Beach Council
Why I Am Running
I believe what has transpired in Wasaga Beach during these last 4 years is unprecedented. The Province of Ontario has seen our worth. Millions of dollars have come in from the Government and The Private sector investing in our Town, Nancy Island, revitalizing the beachfront, building a downtown core, high schools and more. The World’s Longest Freshwater Beach is to be protected and celebrated for all to enjoy. We have not had a first-class hotel in our beachfront area since the 60’s. We once had several of these beauties. Marriott Resort and Spa have designed a stand-alone hotel, specifically for Wasaga Beach. The Stonebridge Building Group has been developing here since the early 2000’s, not just building homes, but supporting the town and volunteer groups in many, many ways. They have been investing in the people. They are now developing a boutique shopping area at the Main Beach, where people can work and live: again somewhat of a throwback to an earlier time in history when shop owners resided above their shops.
For the first time in our history, we will have not just our first high school, but a second one soon to follow. This alone means so much to our families. There will be opportunities right here for education and not just for secondary school, but also for post-secondary. Our kids will be able to pursue athletic interests, music, theatre, clubs, and so many extracurricular activities that make for a full high school experience.
With our investments in Senior Living accommodations and with People Care investing in our town and building a 288-bed Long Term Care facility.
About Me
FAYE EGO
Faye Ego, a founding member and President of the Wasaga Beach Ratepayers Association, Inc., made the decision to take a leave of absence and run for office back in 2022. She has worked tirelessly as one of our current town Councillors, through this term, helping to move Wasaga Beach forward.
Now it’s time to re-elect Faye as councillor. She will continue to be the voice of the people and continue to move Wasaga Beach forward.

Why am I asking to be Re-elected to Council?
In 2022, two of my top priorities were revitalizing tourism and working for a Town to be Proud Of!
Am I proud? Absolutely. One of the first things we did as a Council, working alongside Staff, was to reopen our iconic Beach Drive! The famous road was closed to traffic during the last council's term and then allowed to be covered with sand.
Reopening Beach Drive was a promise to our constituents, and we delivered on it within our first three months! Beach Drive reopened on January 17, 2023, to widespread appreciation. Once again, residents and visitors had road access to one of the most beautiful views and sunsets on Georgian Bay.
We have always been a tourist town, but the world is changing, and people are longing for the outdoors. We are capitalizing on our natural beauty to benefit both our residents and tourists. I have recently returned from five weeks in Australia, and one thing I noticed, whether I was in a small Outback Town, or a major town/city, was that everyone wants a “spot” to enjoy the outdoors. It may be a beautiful waterfront, a wooded trail or a very simple parkette, bench with a view, that is where people gravitate to; this holds true whether you reside or visit. The Government of Ontario has seen our worth: Nancy Island is finally getting the recognition it so deserves. We are destined to be a world-class tourist attraction, and this is where we live! Am I proud? Absolutely!
I have touched on only two of this Council’s accomplishments of which there are many, including:
-
two long-awaited high schools,
-
seniors housing,
-
long-term care,
-
a bus to and from Union Station,

I would like to thank all the wonderful people in this town who have supported me throughout the last four years. We have accomplished so much together, and the excitement is building.
We need to stick together to continue to make all these great things happen, and I would be proud to represent you again. “Let’s Keep It Going” A vote for us - a vote for Faye - ensures that success.
Campaign
During this current council session, I have taken great pride in all that this council has accomplished. Now we Have To "Keep It Going!"
Who is Faye?
Have you ever met a person whom you immediately like, trust and admire? Someone who feels like a best friend or a big sister? Someone who truly listens and readily shares their life experiences? Then perhaps you’ve already met Faye Ego.
She is a strong, kind and personable woman, with a whole lot of integrity. Wife, mother and grandmother. A community-oriented individual who loves to help and host, give and get involved.
Having successfully managed a couple of her own businesses and a lifelong volunteer for causes close to her heart, Faye is now ready to work for the residents of Wasaga Beach.
A vote for Faye is a step in the right direction!
Values
“Over the past 22 years, I have grown to love Wasaga Beach and its people. During this campaign, I look forward to being out and about and engaging with more people than I already know! From a young age, I was taught that “actions speak louder than words”. That is now part of my DNA.
I am not a person who likes to stand still. I strive to make a positive difference!
There is never a time to focus on negativity or engage in bullying or nastiness. I believe I have shown that in my leadership with the Wasaga Beach Ratepayers Association, and through the people I associate with and work with.
Let’s give a clean campaign a chance!”
Why vote for Faye?
Faye Ego, a founding member and President of the Wasaga Beach Ratepayers Association, Inc., made the decision to take a leave of absence and run for office in 2022. She has worked tirelessly over the past four years to speak up to a council that just doesn’t want to listen to taxpayers.
Now it’s time to vote Faye for councillor. She will bring the voice of the people back to the decision making process. It’s time to vote for someone who asks what you want; not someone who ignores you then gives you what they want.
